Tutored elementary school kids during summer break between freshman and sophomore year, as well as in between sophomore and junior year. Received academic award in History as well as Academic Scholarship for undergraduate degree based on performance. As someone who had to work hard for high grades in some classes, and not hard in others, I understand the value of having a mentor to provide guidance. As a tutor, my aim is not to lecture but to provide a framework for approaching education. I try to emphasize that it's not work, it's learning, and learning will prepare us for the future.
